Perceived exertion describes how hard an effort feels to an athlete at a given moment. It reflects the combined influence of physiological stress, fatigue, environmental conditions, and psychological factors, making it a reliable way to gauge internal training load and regulate intensity.

At Top Of The Trail, we apply an RPE scale from 1 to 10, where 10 represents maximal effort.

Staying within the prescribed intensity is essential to achieve the intended training stimulus while effectively managing fatigue and recovery.
